Crabtree Falls is a popular destination for waterfall hikers along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It had been more than 5 years since I had visited the falls, and I was eager to come back. While an average difficulty 1.1 mile hike, what I remember most about this hike were the wonderful people I met along the trail and at the 70ft waterfall. All 3 of the different couples I spoke with had never been to NC before or this falls which was a treat to share their first experience of this falls with them. This was just after a fairly decent rain so the flow was pretty high considering it was getting later in the fall.
