This stand of trees are located about 1.5 miles from home and I pass them nearly everyday. They sit back far from the road and I am usually on my way to an appointment or a location I deem photographically more significant. This past spring I noticed how colorful the blossoms were as they emerged. Their proximity to home allowed me to respond to rain and fog conditions creating an atmosphere and diffused background which highlight the colors saturated by the rain. During a weeklong period, I returned sometimes 2-3 x per day to see how different lighting rendered the trees. A long lens was used to isolate and compress the depth of field.
