During the elk rut it is common to find rutting herds at Windy Point in Grand Teton National Park in the morning. When very lucky you will have a bull elk prancing coinciding with the sun breaking over the eastern horizon. When these opportunities arise, I always try to place the elk by adjusting my position so I have plenty of warm light and still avoiding lens flare. This light happens often, elk placement is tougher. The yellow/orange only lasts for a couple of minutes.
