Description

When the headwaters up at Black Lake freeze over, Tundra Swans - along with Mallards, Mergansers, Pintails and Scaup - move down the valley to open water on Chignik River. One of the challenges of shooting in the Chigniks is that by the time the sun rises above the mountains it’s already hard and bright. Often the best light of the day is at twilight. This presents some technical challenges, but also some good frames.
