The Eastern Sierra Nevada in California has excellent potential for aplenglow photographs every morning before sunrise and every evening after sunset. It is dependent on the weather and it is best when clouds are hanging above the horizon. Also the mountains adjacent to an open valley, lake or river seem to make the best alpenglow photographs.
