Description
A 30 second exposure on Hampton Beach, NH about 30 minutes before sunrise. This is a great example of the principle of Rayleigh Scattering. At sunrise, the sunlight travels through more of the atmosphere. Shorter wavelength colors (blues and violets) get scattered out. This leaves more of the longer wavelength colors like yellow, orange, and red along the horizon.
