The trail-head for the Falls is located 1.6 miles from when you first turn on Bear Gap Road. Parking is limited to 5 or 6 cars at the trailhead with additional parking along the road farther down. Be prepared for cars parked all along the gravel road. Once there, go up the few steps at the bottom and go 0.3 miles to the falls. This trail is considered easy to moderate and runs along the water, so it can get a little muddy at times. The GPS Location to entrance of Minnehaha Falls is N34.74955 and W083.47929.
Unlike some of the other waterfalls in the area, during extended dry periods, this waterfall may have very little water running down it, so its best to go when rainfall has been close to average.
Minnehaha Falls cascades just over 100 feet down the mountainside and is only a short walk from the trailhead parking lot. It can be difficult to photograph as the sun beats down on it most of the day. So plan your trip accordingly if you plan to shoot it. Beautiful weather with blue sky, early in the morning or late in the evening with big fluffy white clouds overhead are the best times to shoot this location. Don't forget your Circular Polarizing Filter and be ready to shoot as soon as each of the clouds casts its shadow on the falls.
