Take 240 SB from Wall to reach the Pinnacles entrance - and then let the park surprise you.
Please thoroughly study and research wildlife behavior before attempting wildlife photography (yes, this includes using your cellphones) - This will ensure not just your safety but the safety of wildlife as well! Cheers!
Badlands National Park has a huge population of resident Bison. Herds of up to 400 are not uncommon to notice during the twilight hours depending on where you find yourself in the park. This shot was taken shortly after sunrise as I bore witness to one of the largest herds crossing the area. There were Bisons of all shapes and sizes and ages since this was mid-summer and there were several calves and juveniles that basically added some contrast with their blonde to orange tones against the deep dark brown tones of the adults. This shot is my favorite as it almost looked like this female Bison adorned herself with some cool and natural jewelry!
