Early November, when the polar bears gather near Churchill, Manitoba, as I was photographing this bear snoozing near the willows he suddenly perked up. I began to search the immediate area for what had drawn his attention and noticed this red fox who seemed to be keenly stalking prey. Further searching led me to the hare. Meanwhile, the polar bear began to pursue the red fox, who was in turn, in pursuit of the arctic hare.
