Description

On this night in Nevada I had an appointment to access a closed property for night photography miles away, but a friend got his truck stuck in sand at sunset, then the rescue vehicle got stuck for hours more. While collecting things to put under the tires, this gave me the opportunity to catch a panorama of the rising Milky Way over the largest sand dune, hours after I expected to be somewhere else. I'm a huge advocate of planning, but it's hard to overstate the value of serendipity in the production of fresh imagery!
