I was returning from a late September visit to Death Valley when I came across this early fall storm breaking up on the Sierra Nevada over the Alabama Hills.
The exercise of pursuing black and white results for the Outdoor Photographer Monochrome Magic Assignment led me to apply a black and white treatment to some of my latest work as well, This result from an early October shot is probably my favorite image of 2018 so far.
