Description
I had driven to Big Sur in hopes of watching gray whales on their northward migration but when I got to the cliffs, it was too foggy to even see the water. On to Plan B. Hike up into the hills on the Boronda Trail to see if I could get above the fog. The more I climbed, the more beautiful the scene became and as I reached the crest and looked south this view was my reward: Blue skies and lupine covered hills above a fog shrouded coastline. I didn’t see any whales that day, but I certainly didn’t mind that I’d had to change plans.
