Description
I was walking around the property of a Richardson Nature Center, when I spotted this strange looking insect. At first I thought it was a large horsefly, but on closer inspection I saw this bug wasn't that. I took some shots but I didn't know what kind of an insect I had captured until I did some research on the internet. I hope that I can see one again, as I enjoyed viewing the colors on it once I looked at the images on my computer. I found them to be challenging to shoot as they are fast moving and don't stay perched on one flower for long like most flying insects I've encountered.
