A fresh perspective via exposure. Soon it will be time for the Dogwoods to bloom signifying another start to the coming summer. The dogwood blooms are some of my favorite things to photograph and I am forever trying to find ways to present them with a fresh perspective. In the case of this image I used a creative technique I find myself leaning toward s more and more. Pushing the exposure to a point of clipping the highlights. In this case by isolating a section of the blooms which gave me the composition and visual flow I wanted I found I was shooting into the light, so I pushed the exposure by almost +2 and created the white background which in effect is similar to an out of focus background. However, I could shoot with a larger depth of field to get more of the blooms in focus across several focal planes.
