Death Valley National park is about 2 hours drive north of Las Vegas, Nevada.

It's about 4-5" long. They get up to 18" long and a couple of pounds in weight. They get a lot of their food and water in the spring and store it in their thick tails. This one clearly hasn't had much to eat or drink yet, since its tail is so skinny. They like to sun themselves to warm up, increase their metabolism, and aid in their digestion of the plants that they eat.
