This oft-photographed tree is growing directly from a crack between granite boulders at Olmsted Point in Yosemite NP. Captured while standing below the edge of the boulders below the tree, camera resting just above the crack on the tripod. This was the day before the park was closed due to wildfires. The sky behind the tree is filled with smoke.
