I had set up shooting this section of the Maine coast for a sunrise that never happened, as the fog was too thick. The warm lighting that followed shortly after sunrise created a magical glow which was not expected, but very welcome. As I shot, a fisherman walked into my view and set up shop in the distance. Initially, I was annoyed that my pristine view had been encroached upon. But in the end, I think the fisherman added scale and helped complete the story of the morning more than my strictly "landscape" image could have.
