Yosemite National Park lies in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, about three hours east of the San Francisco Bay Area.
A circular polarizing filter was used to cut glare off of the trees' leaves to preserve color. To create a working copy of the image with maximum dynamic range and shadow and highlight detail, three exposures bracketed one stop apart in exposure were adjusted in Adobe Lightroom and combined in Photomatix HDR software. The resulting TIFF file was fine tuned for brightness, contrast and color in Lightroom.
Yosemite National Park's iconic granite features are spectacular in every season, but in the fall you can capture them in more colorful compositions.
