Notes

Airglow is a chemoluminescence of oxygen, much like the aurora borealis "northern lights" at higher latitudes. Because airglow is less intense and bright, it is not visible to the eye but may be picked up by digital camera sensors. Some cameras, or photographers in post-processing, may try to use the purple to green hue slider to "correct out" this natural color that is present and illuminating a night scene.

Description

Many people recognize Yellowstone's Grand Prismatic Spring by day, but it can really shine under the stars and Aurora-like green airglow at night.
