Given Ansel Adams' work produced in Yosemite, it's hard to imagine a national park scene more iconic than Tunnel View. On this morning I anticipated some ground fog after the prior day's rain and the drop in temperature as the sky cleared that night, but the linear shadows of the tree tips was a nice bonus!
When the sun cleared the horizon without producing sunrise color, nearly everyone left, since the bright light in our eyes and cameras signaled that sunrise was "over". Someone suggested that we go get breakfast. Seeing the clouds just above the sun, I said, "No, let's give this a little more time." The sun rose to shoot its light from behind the cloud, and the sun rays quickly began. I felt sorry for the dozens of people who left, right before the dramatic light came!
