This was a scramble to find this composition as I was hiking up the Old Bridle Trail to the Summit of Mt Lafayette. As the sun began to rise over Mt Lincoln I was running in snow shoes to this spot I saw out of the corner of my eye. I set up within a minute centering the scrub spruce to bracket the sun. I set my aperture to f16 to get a sunstar and depth of field through the image. In processing, I desaturated the image 80% leaving a trace of the yellow in the sun to pull the viewers eye through the image.
