My climbing buddy and I climbed Pigeon Spire in Bugaboo Provencial Park, in British Columbia, Canada. I debated about bringing my DSLR camera, not wanting to haul the extra weight up the peak. Since I did bring the camera with me, I spent the whole climb looking for that unique perspective to capture the drama of climbing and the rugged beauty of the mountains. When we got to a saddle, I knew immediately that this was the image I needed to capture. I let my climbing partner get ahead of me so that he would be a small red dot with the Bugaboos spread out on the horizon. I am so glad that I carried the extra weight.
