I was driving through the northern part of Yellowstone National Park last February in a snow storm, looking for wildlife. I had been hoping to capture images of bison in their winter environment, surviving the harsh conditions. As I rounded a curve, I saw a small group of bison approaching in the distance. The lead bison was covered in snow. I used a long lens set at 450 mm to isolate the lead bison, throw the background out of focus, and include snowflakes in the scene.
