Description

This piece of ice art was created by Nature: The strong sun had melted snow off the ponderosas but the severe frost during the night had turned the liquid ice water into incredible displays of macro ice art, with intricate designs resembling Quicksilver floating through th air - especially when photographed against the deep blue Colorado sky at almost 10,000 ft elevation. I purposely avoided showing the branch of the ponderosa pine where this masterpiece was attached to in order to keep the scene as abstract as possible. So far, none of the people who have looked at this image have been able to figure out what they are looking at.
