Description

Red-tailed hawks usually leave the nest at about 42-46 days after hatching. I was so very thankful to have been able to observe this process several days a week over this period of time. Being able to watch this beautiful creature hop out of the nest, and then from branch to branch, before finally taking flight for the very first time, is one more thing that keeps me coming back to photograph the wild in their element.
