Description

I finally had a chance to spend the night at Soccoro, New Mexico’s VLA or Very Large Array Telescope. The night was beginning to look interesting too! The mostly clear skies were periodically streaked with wispy high altitude cirrus clouds - perfect for time lapse setups. Also, I waited until dishes were positioned to light up with the moon overhead. This was challenging because if you looked away for a minute, they would all turn! Then I had to wait to get them back into formation for composition. It took 660 exposures to get all the data needed to put this nighttime, long exposure star trail landscape together. What were they looking for that night? Who knows...
