I was visiting Mauritius with my partner before an assignment in Kenya and I was very interested in seeing the famous southern coast. I knew there was an underwater waterfall at LeMorne so I researched how to get there and found nearby places to stay that would make it easier to get there for sunrise and sunset. This was taken from Le Morne public beach, just after sunrise as the sun cleared the mountains and illuminated the water. The beach is surrounded by a reef and the water is shallow for hundreds of yards. The patterns that unfold as the sun changes angles throughout the day are otherworldly.
