I captured this image when I went out to shoot the sunrise in the Grand Teton National Park. When I arrived at the location, I noticed this Blue Heron perched upon this branch. Thankfully I had my camera in hand, and so I quickly took the photo. As I looked down to make sure my exposure was correct, it flew off. I was so thankful that I was prepared for this shot ahead of time, because if I would have had to fiddle with my settings, I would have missed this shot.
