Notes

Clouds are one of my absolute favorite subject and I have been photographing clouds for quite a few years by now. I even published a very successful, upscale coffee table art book - simply titled "Clouds" - featuring more than 100 of my best cloud images. Description

Locals and other Insider know the Wet Mountain Valley in Colorado as the "Valley of the Crazy Clouds" due to its special location of being squeezed in between the Rockies to the West and the Wet Mountains to the East. As a result, the area produces regularly highly unusual clouds. Like this cloud, photographed at night, when the gigantic cloud was somewhat ghostly illuminated by an almost full moon and was churning and rolling in the starry night sky like an angry hippo.
