High in a remote region of Kings Canyon National Park lies a stunning area with lakes and jagged peaks dubbed "pinnacles." I visited this place for the first time last summer, and found it absolutely awe-inspiring. I typically like to get reflection shots when I'm near water, so I endeavored to do the same here. It was a bit windy at first, but with some patience--and a hike to a calmer stream outlet--I was able to find the calm conditions I was seeking. The flowers in the foreground accentuated the scene and provided a nice contrast to the jagged peaks in the background, hence the name "Contrasts."
