Description

For about 10 minutes on a sunny day, I noticed that this sapling received overhead light through the thick canopy in the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park. The first time I noticed it, I was took late and only part of the tree was illuminated. I imagined how cool it would look, as if under a spotlight while the rest of the trees were in shadow. A very theatrical feel I thought, like a singer on a stage. I check the forecast, and returned when I thought there would be enough sun then waited nature to do the rest.
