Badwater Basin in Death Valley National Park has the distinction of holding the "world's hottest" record of 134 degrees, Fahrenheit. Badwater Basin is also a picturesque basin where the salt forms beautiful honeycomb shapes. Given its beauty and its distinction of being the world's hottest location, I often thought it would be great to catch a sunrise or sunset there with a red/orange glow. With that concept in mind, I visited this particular evening in hopes of a stunning sunset. The sunset was better than I had hoped--the clouds turned a bright orange/red and resembled flames rising from the horizon, perfectly symbolizing the moniker, "The Hottest Place on Earth."
