Jacobus is a borough of under 2,000 residents and located just south of the city of York, PA, just off Interstate 83; and located about 50 miles north of Baltimore, MD.
This part of the lake is always full of Herons and Egrets...but sometimes you get lucky and a White-tail Deer makes an appearance. This visit was extra special, because a family of White-tail Deer came out and spent at least 15 minutes along the lake shore eating and drinking. Then, one of the Great Blue Herons near them snagged a very large Carp, that was obviously way too big for him to actually eat. He took flight and went right in front of the Deer while I was taking photos, and I was able to capture this awesome shot. I was in certainly lucky to witness all of this nature, but to be able to have the memory forever in a photo is pretty cool.
