Description

A visit from family during July had us on the eastern side of the Sierras for a couple of days. While afternoon storms are frequent over the summer months in the Sierras, typically the clouds dissipate over the evening hours. This particular morning the remnants of the storm clouds remained above the Sierra for sunrise. This image captures the last of the sunrise color disappearing from the clouds as the first rays light hit the mountain peaks.
