Palouse Falls in eastern Washington state plummets 200 feet into a natural amphitheater. Having taken daytime photos there before, I wanted to capture the falls in moon light. Late in the afternoon I pinpointed exactly where I wanted to set up my tripod at one edge of the amphitheater, and memorized the path from my campsite to the location. I returned well after sunset by head lamp and took multiple manual exposures. Since I am afraid of heights, I focused on taking photographs rather than what was in front of my feet.
