While on Kauai, I had spent much of my time around the great Waimea Canyon waiting to shoot sunset. Clouds never developed as I had hoped, but I could see miles below along the coast that clouds littered the sky. I raced down the mountain to the coast to this bay I had visited much earlier in the say. I moved closed to the crashing waves as the sun dipped between a break in the clouds. The wonderful light created a sunstar, and illuminated the translucent water. It was a rapid fire situation to get the right wave action and shutter speed to catch the action in an artistic way.
