I spent a week photographing the Redwood Forests in California. One of my main goals was to capture the light rays created by the rising sun through the morning fog. However, the atmospheric conditions proved to be more elusive than I expected. Luckily on the next to last day, while driving to a trailhead, this spectacle suddenly revealed itself as I rounded a bend in the road. I quickly set up my tripod and started taking pictures. With a light display like this, no starburst filter was needed.
