NH's iconic Mount Chocorua rises out of Lake Chocorua at the foothills of th White Mountains, and has offered inspiration to photographers over the years. The challenge is getting refreshing and unique images of such an often and easily photographed mountain. For this and several other ventures, I paddled my kayak across the lake, then waded out amongst the lily pads and Pickerelweed. I waited for afternoon light to backlight the vibrant foliage and created the towering clouds that often pop up on hot summer afternoons. I placed the peak and foreground foliage in roughly thirds to balance the image and keep the interest in those selected areas.
