This was taken during a 10-day backpack, where we also included one day of packrafting on the Alatna River. Gates of the Arctic National Park is a spectacular place, and even more spectacular during fall. It's hard to believe it's the least visited park in the US, but access is difficult. We needed to take two bush plane flights to reach our drop off point.
The photography was excellent and it seemed like I was shooting all day. The angle of the sun on the horizon always provided interesting light. For instance, this shot was taken almost exactly at noon.
Taken with a Nikon Z7 and 14-30mm f/4.
