This year, my wife and I explored the swamps of Caddo Lake in our kayak for the first time, looking to photograph the unique character of this swampy environment. This required miles of kayaking among the cypress trees and hanging Spanish moss. The tightly packed trees and debris made paddling the kayak into the proper position difficult. A big thanks to my wife for all the work she did maneuvering our tandem kayak into the proper position to capture my images. Fog on this particular early morning made for an eerie setting that you’d expect to see in a swamp. In addition, the calm water made for excellent reflections.
