In the first week of November, 2019, I spotted what looked like a very tiny newborn Whitetail fawn. It was no bigger than a small dog. I thought there was no way this little thing would make it through the winter, having been born so later in the season. Last years winter was kind of a mild one, but nevertheless, this picture was taken on March 3rd, 2020. And there it was, it had made it this far - I could hardly believe my eyes. The bottom of the birdfeeder over it's head is less than five feet off the ground, just to give some perspective as to how small this fawn still was and still with it's spotted coat. We live on the edge of a small hamlet and have more than our share deer but this was so unusual - hard to believe.
