Late Spring Snow, Melting Early #3 (Great Sand Dunes National Park)

I25 south from Denver, US 160 West toward Alamosa, CO 150 North at sign for national park.

Early morning, late May. Sudden snowfall, with an equally sudden melt after sunrise. Waves that the wind had first rubbed into the sand turned into visual melodies, layered with the work of the clouds and sun. Only one other hiker trudged, like us, upwards in the sloughing sand-and-snow dunes.
