I rented a houseboat to explore and photograph Lake Powell for a week. My main destination was the Escalante Arm of the lake. I used a kayak to explore the various side canyons. This particular canyon with the reflection was the highlight of the trip. Once I got the kayak into position to shoot the photo, I had to wait for all my paddle-stroke ripples to dissipate. I had to hand-hold my camera extremely still in order to take a series of pictures to create this HDR image. I was intrigued by how the rock formations created lines and even arrows that all pointed to the center of the image.
