Grand Prismatic

I hiked to the upper view to photograph the Grand Prismatic hot spring. Unfortunately, the light was too harsh for a good picture. I decided to come back around sunset, to photograph the springs again. My goal was to find a unique angle or perspective of the springs. As I walked along the boardwalk, my eye was drawn to the bright yellow-orange of the bacteria mat surrounding the spring. I found that if I laid down on the boardwalk, and stretched my arm over the mat at just the right angle, I could capture this unique perspective, along with the steam coming off the blue springs. The color reminded me of molten lava, flowing from the spring.
