When it comes to bird photography big isn't always better. One of my favorite subjects is hummingbirds. I got this shot of one in flight while feeding on the flowers of a Mexican Sage bush in the San Diego Botanic Garden. You can see the purple sage flowers in the background for context. If you look closely you can also see pollen on the hummingbird's beak. The hummingbirds play an important role in pollinating the plants that they feed upon.
