I photographed this fiery sunrise over Gatlinburg, Tennessee from the Buckberry Branch Overlook along the Gatlinburg Bypass. I arrived 40 minutes before sunrise and had the whole overlook to myself for the longest time aside from another spectator who remained in their car. The light and clouds were constantly evolving until reaching their peak when I bracketed three exposures for this photo. While most of the land was now barren of snow, the peak of Mt. LeConte was still capped in the white powder, and further topped with clouds.
