Description

After sunset, a portion of the 120,000 acres Bighorn Fire active in June 2020. Found a good view of the mouth of Ventana Canyon to set up the camera / tripod; wanted to be there just after sunset to emphasize the fire and to also still have details in the foreground. Here the fire is burning on both sides of lower Ventana Canyon in the Coronado National Forest on the 9000' Santa Catalina Mountains which form the northern boundary of Tucson, Arizona in the Sonoran Desert. In several areas the fire came close enough to homes to cause mandatory neighborhood evacuations in the metro area; and also in Mt Lemmon Village at the top of the mountain range.
