It's hard to imagine a situation with more focused intensity than a predator stalking prey. This is an image I captured of an Osprey hovering above an inlet at California's San Elijo Lagoon, sizing up a fish for a possible strike. I just loved the intensity of its stare as it peered through the murky water from about 60 feet above the inlet. It's outstretched leg with it's talons upped the level of intensity for me as well. I decided to present the scene in black and white in order to remove the distraction of colors and allow viewers to give their full attention to the nuances of the raptors head, wing and leg positions.
