My wife and I hiked 5 days and 4 nights through the Paria Canyon to photograph it. My main goal of the trip was to capture the enormity of the canyon. This particular part of the Paria Canyon had the highest walls we encountered. I tried the shot without a hiker in it, but it completely failed to capture the scale. So, I set my camera up on a tripod and composed the picture, got into the frame and my wife took it. It takes a moment for the viewer to notice the tiny figure, then the enormity of the canyon becomes apparent.
