I was house boating on Lake Powell and I knew that I wanted a beach and a butte in my image. I had to to wait until golden hour to execute my shot. I searched for the perfect beach and when I found it, it was the middle of the day so I worked on my composition. Lake Powell can get pretty busy during the summer months. I sat and protected my pristine beach void of footprints. There had been a horrific storm the night before. As I waited numerous boat came ashore and I politely asked them to please move a little farther down to protect my gorgeous beach. Okay, then the clouds began to roll in and I knew that all my hard work was going to pay off. The alpen glow on Gunsight Butte and my pristine beach were perfect. Baam...beautiful clouds and wonderful color. The sand and stone just glow in the evening hours in Arizona.
